My tween daughter Roo and I have now weathered many a summer day and we can always find something to do that is frugal or free in most cases. Here is our list:

  1. Visit the beach. This is one of my daughter’s favorites.
  2. Go fishing
  3. Local Outdoor Concerts and Plays
  4. Go for a Nature Walk.
  5. Do an act of service.
  6. Have a games night
  7. Host a sleepover
  8. Do your nails: manicures and pedicures
  9. Have a Yard Sale Scavenger hunt
  10. Draw Sidewalk Art
  11. Attend a local bookstore event
  12. Spit seeds
  13. Make homemade ice cream
  14. Have a Lemonade stand
  15. Have a water gun fight
  16. Spit Seeds
  17. Make treats
  18. Skip stones
  19. Star Gaze
  20. Start a collection
  21. Go to your local botanical garden
  22. Grow something
  23. Read
  24. Go for a bike ride

    Three cheers for the beach walking….nobody (whatever age) EVER gets tired of walking on the beach!!
